Visit to Copsegrove Farm.
Our Key Stage 2 two day visit to Copsegrove was a resounding success. The weather, setting and activities were perfect. All pupils thoroughly enjoyed the rich and varied experiences which were expertly led by Kate. She was particularly impressed with the behaviour, attitude and enthusiasm of our pupils. I have passed on my sincere thanks on behalf of the school and have expressed a wish to return for another visit – very soon !!!
Open Gardens.
The school displayed work completed by our pupils as part of the event held yesterday. I have received many positive comments about their work, in particular the fantasy gardens. It was also a pleasure to hear visitors on the green talking about how impressed they were with the vegetables in our raised bed.
Cathedral Concert.
The singing concert at Gloucester Cathedral takes place this Wednesday. All pupils involved (Y2, 3, 4, 5 and 6) will be leaving school before the end of the day and travelling to Gloucester by coach. Between 3.30pm and 5.30pm they will be taking part in rehearsals. The final performance will be at 6.00pm.
PLEASE REMEMBER TO PROVIDE YOUR CHILD / CHILDREN WITH AN EXTRA PACKED LUNCH AND DRINK.
Early indications are that many family members, from all over the county and country, will be attending. It will certainly be a night to remember. Please remember, all are welcome.
OSA meeting.
As a reminder, the next OSA meeting takes place tomorrow evening at 7.45pm.
Letters about Y1/2 and KS2 sports activities.
There are no cluster sports planned for this year. However, pupils from local primary schools will be meeting together to take part in two sporting festivals run at Thomas Keble.
Years 1 and 2 have been invited to attend a morning on Tuesday 7th July and KS2 on Thursday 9th July.
A permission letter with more information will be sent out this week.
Parent Governor.
Following our recent appointment process, the Governing Body are pleased to announce that Peter Davie will join as parent governor.
Can you help?
If you are available on the sports afternoon planned for Friday 10th July or the Leavers Service on the afternoon of Thursday 16th July, your help would be greatly appreciated. Please contact the school to discuss this in more detail.
Ofsted – update.
Thank you to all of you who sent best wishes and have asked about our recent inspection visit.
The school is still awaiting the draft report. When it arrives the draft report has to be checked by Governors and then sent back for publication. We expect to send you the final report in the next couple of weeks.
With all best regards
Lisa Austin-Harrison
Headteacher.
