We have been really encouraged by the way in which our changed arrangements have made a positive impact to the start of the school day. Thank you for your support and a huge well done to all those who participated in outdoor Wake and Shake on Friday.

Curriculum information.

Attached to this newsletter is some information about the teaching and learning in your child’s class / classes this term. New for this year and as a result of requests we have also included specific information for each class relating to reading, homework and PE.

After school clubs.

We plan to run a range of clubs on Thursday after school 3.15-4.15pm. They will start this term on the 1st October and run for five weeks, making Thursday 12th November the last one.

The clubs on offer this term are;

Recorder – for Key Stage 1 (max 10).
ICT – for KS2 (max 10).
Netball – for KS1 and 2 (max 14).

As always places are offered on a first come first served basis, so to avoid disappointment please ensure that the attached slip is returned to the school office as soon as possible.

Music in Key Stage 2.

We are delighted to again welcome Vicky Barnes-Moffat to our school this year. As part of the “Wider Opportunities” programme offered by the Gloucestershire Music Service, Vicky will be providing ten weeks singing teaching to the Key Stage 2 class. This will result in a concert to be performed to parents at school during the last afternoon session on Monday 7th December. More information to follow.

Silver Mile Youth Run.

This year the Stroud half marathon takes place on Sunday 25th October. As part of the events on the day, there will again be a race open to children. Some of our pupils took part in this fun race last year. There is strictly no entrance on the day. Entry forms need to be completed and returned to the Stroud Athletics Club with the fee of £2.50. If you would like your child to take part there are entry forms and information available from the school office.
