Happy New School Year.
Welcome back to everyone. We hope you all had an enjoyable and relaxing holiday and that like us you are excited about the new school year ahead.   We would like to extend a very special welcome to the new reception children Ben, Joe, Kim, Johnathan, Kieran and Pierce who start with us on Monday next week.

Class 1.
Over the Summer break a redecoration and refurbishment project took place in Class 1. This “makeover” has really improved the learning environment for pupils with improved lighting, new flooring and furniture. The improved layout of the room ensures that the resources are appropriate and accessible for our mixed age class.
If you have not already done so make sure you pop in to have a look.

Music tuition.
Music tuition is available to all pupils in Key Stage 2.  The instruments currently on offer are keyboard, guitar, flute, oboe and clarinet. If your child would like to take up this opportunity please contact Carolyn in the office.
Last term there were some requests from parents regarding the possibility of including violin lessons. Anna Jenkins a local violin teacher registered with the county music service has contacted the school regarding this matter. If your child is interested in having violin lessons – either individual or group please could you inform Carolyn so that we can explore this further.

German Club.

As of next week there will be an opportunity to learn another language at school. Sue Wise, formerly Primary Languages Adviser with the County and now local resident, has very kindly offered to support the school by offering a weekly lunchtime German club. This will be open, free of charge, to Key Stage 2 pupils on a first come first served basis. If your child would be interested please let us know by Monday morning at the latest.

Oakridge Village Show.
It is the annual show this Saturday at 2pm. Schedules and entry forms are available in school. As always there are many sections for children to enter. This year the school will have a stall. Thank you very much to Becki Gray for organising this.

Birthdays this month.

Felix – 7 on 26th
Phoenix – 8 on 27th
