For the past two meetings, the Pupil Council have been discussing Red Nose Day. After a long think we decided that the exciting activities would be: Malteser Racing (where people blow the Maltesers across a track with straws, biscuit decorating ( at school) and finally, a special wake and shake (wake and shake being a physical exercise in the morning that will consist of chosen moves based on Red Nose Day).

On Tuesday every child at school had the opportunity to make and eat their own pancake. Key Stage 1 undertook a data-handling exercise to work out the favourite toppings. Key Stage 2 began their topic on The Easter Story. KS1 Photos can be seen below and work from KS2 will follow shortly in a subsequent post.
Key Stage 2 have been brushing up on their storytelling skills this week putting actions to a new story called “Mr Wiggle” by Pie Corbett.
The children in KS1 were delighted to welcome cats, dogs, chickens and ducks into their classroom for their pet day.
Thank you to all parents who supported this day.
All pupils and staff dressed up as their favourite book characters today and took part in a variety of activities including re-telling stories with actions and discussing their favourite books with talking partners. Pierce and Beth won the fancy dress prizes. Don’t forget to check you child’s book bag for their £1 Work Book Day Voucher.
In German Club so far we have learned the names of colours such as “blou” and “lila” and animals like “hunt-a dog”.
Just before Christmas we went to Birmingham to visit a German market. Presently we are working on something EXTREMELY secret which we are doing every week. We have also learned some songs and watched a short clip of children in Germany. The clip showed us children saying common phrases.
