Clubs ICT and choir.
Two after school clubs will start on Thursday next week and run for eight weeks. Sandy Bryson our ICT technician will be running an ICT club open to any pupils in Y2 to Y6. Also starting this term will be a choir club. Rebekah Jones, a specialist singing teacher recommended by Vicki Barnes- Moffat will be leading the sessions. The choir club is open to all pupils from Y1-6.
We are in the process of planning an arts week in school for the week beginning Monday 11th October. The focus will be on our school and our community. Therefore, we are seeking to use your help and expertise. If you or someone you know locally would be able to come into school during the week to run a workshop or give a demonstration please tell us. The newly elected Pupil Council have been involved in planning this event and are very keen to explore what artistic skills and talents our local community has. Your help would be greatly appreciated.
Happy New School Year.

New appointment for KS2.
Interviews were held in school this week to appoint a new teacher for our Key Stage 2 class. We are pleased to announce that Lara Burtwell was the successful candidate. Lara is currently working at another small school in Gloucestershire whilst she completes her studies. Her recent experience of mixed age teaching, enthusiasm and vibrancy really made her shine. We are delighted that she will be joining our team to build upon the outstanding work carried out by Miss Hayball. Lara will be spending time in the school before September as part of her induction. A transition day is planned for 1st July – to include the current Y2 pupils – when Lara will teach the class for the day. Continue reading 'Newsletter 12'»
Well done to Alfie, Alban, Ben, Joe, Maria and Megan who successfully completed the end of Key Stage 2 SATs this week. All staff have been extremely impressed with their attitude and preparation not just this week but throughout the school year. In order to celebrate their achievements the class took part in the traditional “toast with toast”. Continue reading 'Newsletter 11'»
Congratulations to Joe and Ben in Year 6 who represented our school this week in the regional finals of this very difficult competition. Joe and Ben reported that “we had to build a tower over 75cm tall with a platform and a lift which was really hard! There were also lots of different schools there.” Thank you to Mrs Williams who provided valuable team support on the day. Continue reading 'Newsletter 10'»
The Oakridge Sport Relief Mile.
The staff would like to say a big well done to all the pupils, parents and grandparents who successfully completed a wet and soggy mile up at the playing field last Friday. The total amount raised for the Sport Relief appeal was £79.00. Yet again our Pupil Council did a great job in coordinating the organisation of the event – great lap markers Continue reading 'Newsletter 9'»
