The Oakridge School Association Committee

A warm ‘Hello’ to you from the Oakridge School Association (OSA) committee. The OSA is a volunteer group of parents and staff who, with the help of other parents, friends of the school and the wider community, raise funds for Oakridge Parochial School.

The OSA’s mission statement is:

The Oakridge School Association (OSA) supports Oakridge Parochial School by raising funds to help enrich the learning environment for its pupils. The OSA also helps to inject our school’s ‘Living, Learning, Laughing’ ethos into the wider community by welcoming all to participate and contribute to social events. This is to work alongside the OSA’s purpose as per the 1996 OSA Constitution.

The OSA committee is enthusiastic about raising money for the school in a fun way – which everyone locally has the opportunity to enjoy and join in with. We aim to run a number of events throughout the year, with our main fundraiser being the annual May Revels. It’s a great afternoon of fun held on the village green and includes the crowning of a May Queen, lots of stalls, games, dancing and food.

The money we raise each year pays for many things including excursions, subsidised swimming lessons, and resources and materials for the school. We also think it’s really important for you to know exactly what we’re raising money for, so we will let you know the purpose of each fundraiser before it takes place.

All parents, guardians and teachers are automatically members of the OSA – friends of the school, past parents, other staff and governors are also entitled to participate. The committee would be delighted if you would like to join any of our meetings throughout the year, which take place at the school from 7.30pm. 2012 meeting dates are: 11 January, 1 March, 25 April, 21 June and 12 September (OSA committee AGM).

Finally, we always welcome ideas about methods of fundraising, what we could raise money for, and how you might help. Importantly, we also encourage you to let us know how you think we’re doing. Please use the form at the bottom of this page to keep in touch with us, or come and have a chat when you next bump into us – we really are a friendly bunch!

Updates about our activities and forthcoming events, along with minutes from our meetings, will appear on this website – watch this space!
