Safeguarding
“You make me feel happy when I am worried or sad, thank you for looking after me.”
Safeguarding
At Oakridge Parochial School the safeguarding and well-being of every child is our top priority. We expect all staff, governors and volunteers to share this commitment in safeguarding our pupils.
All school staff are trained in Safeguarding & Child Protection, and are aware of the signs and symptoms that a child may be at risk of harm, and the requirement to report any concerns to the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL). Our pupils are made aware of the adults they can talk to if they have any concerns, and know we will listen to them and take seriously what they tell us.
The procedures which we follow have been laid down by Keeping Children Safe in Education (2024), and Gloucestershire Safeguarding Children Partnership. The school has adopted a Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy in line with this, for the safety of all.
The Designated Safeguarding Lead is Mr. Ross Irwin (Executive Headteacher)
The Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead is Mrs Rachael Modaley (Class 2 Teacher)
The Designated Person for Looked After Children (LAC) is Mr Graham Wright (SENDCO)
The Designated Safeguarding Governor is Nadia Scott.
The Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy is available below, as is a link to Keeping Children Safe in Education (2024).
