School Council
“You have been an amazing influence this past year. Our daughter is thriving in your care and she loves you to bits – in fact, our whole family does.”
All children and young people should have a say in decisions that affect their lives. At Oakridge, the opinions of our children matter very much and we are committed to giving them a voice when it comes to issues and decisions that impact them.
The Oakridge School Council is a group of pupils who are elected to represent their classmates and their views. This is an important and useful way for schools to provide leadership and development opportunities for their students.
School councils are a great way in which to increase participation – teaching young people about democracy, local and global citizenship and accountability.
