The Trust
“Lovely family feel. Wonderful children and great staff.”
In 1998, the late Miss Marjorie Woolley Baker, a music enthusiast and teacher who lived in Oakridge during the 1950s, left her residuary estate to the school. It was an extraordinarily generous gift, with a value in excess of £345,000.
The purpose of the trust is simple: to enrich the education of the pupils. In light of Marjorie Woolley Baker’s background as a music teacher, the trust provides particular support for music and the arts. All pupils are eligible for subsidised music lessons.
The trust also manages donations to the school and helps augment the facilities provided by the local council. It enables the school to maintain an unusually high staff-to-pupil ratio.
